India's 3D cellphone goes for $97, no glasses required
Where can you find an auto-stereoscopic 3D cellphone launching for less than $100 (Rs. 4,299) sans contract? India, of course (by the way, "auto-stereoscopic" is a fancy way of describing a 3D display that doesn't require stereoscopic goggles). Budget mobile phone manufacturer Spice Mobility has announced the M-67 3D phone, which features a 2.36-inch 240x320 pixel display with a dedicated 3D shortcut key that lets users switch between 2D and 3D viewing modes for the UI, images, and video.

PlayStation Phone specs and images leaked
Details on the rumored PlayStation Phone have finally leaked, courtesy of Engadget. The device will be heading to the market soon, possibly with Android 3.0 (codenamed Gingerbread). If it indeed ships with Gingerbread, it could be out in time for the holidays, but that's pushing it. Engineers will only be getting the first Android 3.0 tablets in December, but then again this is a phone. Either way, Google has yet to share any release timeline details for upcoming versions of Android (such as 2.3) but it won't be long now.

Samsung drops Symbian, signs up for Windows Phone 7
The developer lab will be closing its doors on October 29, 2010 while the Symbian forum and remaining Symbian content (such as Symbian apps being certified for distribution on the Samsung Apps store) will go away by December 31, 2010. The deadline for all outstanding questions is December 10, 2010. This means that Samsung is now a member of Symbian Foundation in name only, much like Sony Ericsson. The electronics giant says its plans for the Bada and Android operating systems are unchanged.

BlackBerry maker unveils 'PlayBook' tablet to take on iPad
- PlayBook is smaller and lighter than iPad... and plays Flash
- Comes with USB connection and has front and rear cameras
- Experts expect it to cost about the same as Apple's iPad
The PlayBook is a smaller and lighter device than Apple’s iPad, which kicked-started the tablet market when it launched in April.
It will have a 7-inch screen, making it half the size of Apple's device, and weigh about 0.9 pounds to the iPad's 1.5 pounds. And, unlike the iPad, it will have two cameras, front and back.
Research in Motion (RIM) showed off the tablet for the first time last night and is set to launch it early next year in the U.S., with an international rollout due later in the year.
